Rosy Maple Moth

Rosy Maple Moth-soon to show up in artwork

After having two young sons obsessed with bugs, I found myself quickly getting over my fear of insects (yes, old boyfriend, I did NOT like bugs like you did but pretended I did to the point of literally turning myself inside out in fear, oh things we do for love).

Now, I still don't like the up close pictures of their "faces" but I find myself fascinated by them now. It's not often that you see something that you have never seen right there on your front porch. I saw this guy the other night and thought someone had "misplaced" their gum. And he is beautiful don't you think? But really, what chance does this guy have unless he is directly placed on a pink flower, a bowl of sherbet or hanging out in the Hello Kitty store? Nature, you sure are funny.

I've said this before.....when I play soccer with my husband, he'll tell me I played well and I ask but did I LOOK good? (it's a joke, a joke) bravo Rosy Maple moth, you might not live long, BUT MAN, you looked GOOD.

More Change

I have had a catharsis. Some really great change.....more on that soon.

Last night I was thinking about how weird it is that one of the things that spooks me the most is my own child waddling down the hallway at 3am. I guess I have Stephen King to thank for that, thanks mister. But really, who is afraid of their own child? I mean, you know they are right down the hall, they do live with you....but somehow their PJ padded feet plopping down the hallway is more alarming than, let's say, a ghost. Yes, really. Last night, I lay in my bed in sheer terror that my daughter would pop her wild curly head around the door frame and say something"Mommy I haf to go to da bafroom." It's like a dang horror story, I tell you.

Big Picture Encore! have just been feeling like dormant grass. It's okay to be slightly brownish because the green is-a-coming right? It is. I have been so busy wrapping up the school year. More coming......a trip to Maine, the beach, tons of art that is almost.......finished.

Until then, amuse yourself and learn a TON with Claudine Hellmuth's composition class, you know the one that yours truly is so humbly a part's back by popular demand. Also, so very happy with the Artful Blogging magazine and the beautiful treatment of my artwork. Sigh. Awesome. (I'm planning on taking very artful pictures of it laying in my flowerbeds, no just kidding, actually, yes.)

Do you ever feel like you just don't know where to start?

I work every other day right now. (School is almost out though). Working every other day is good and bad. On one hand it's...every OTHER day (I don't know if you got that). But on the other it's like you never truly concentrate on one thing. You're like a bouncing, home, work, home, work.....don't misunderstand me, please don't. I am happy with working part time. But I would love for it to be less bouncy.
I am looking at my house right now and have no idea what I should get done. My laundry has a movie trailer forming in my head with that deep voice guy, "Laundry......the sequel, the prequel, the DVD with commentary all coming at you....RIGHT NOW.....get it done today....or it could be the END OF THE WORLD."

At the end of this week, I will have all three of my kids at home every day until the end of August as well as half the neighborhood because apparently, YOU DON'T have to clean up at my house. I did not know that.

I am trying to finish.
Trying to get the dang book done.
Trying not to be upset that Brain,Child is no more (more on that later).
Trying to organize a 40th birthday party
Give my kids' teachers gifts that SAY IT ALL
Get a little Beth art done because if I don't none of the above will happen.
(let's get on that.......or it could be THE END OF THE WORLD)
